I want to wish all you a very Happy New Year! So many things have been happening for me since the end of September and you may have noticed that I took a little blogging break. However, I had a great reason to do so!
When I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and did not return to my previous position, I thought I would never work in my career again. As most of you know, I began Detours in Life to share all the new things in my life such as crafts, cooking, and discussing my Rheumatoid Arthritis and how it has affected me and my family.
Sometimes, life decides that the detour you are on needs to change and that is exactly what happened to me. I’ve been quiet because I landed my dream job! I am a Happiness Engineer for Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com. I started full time with them in November and I have to say, I LOVE my job. I work from home, as does everyone in the company. I set my own schedule and I absolutely love what I do. I assist our customers with questions via chat and also support our mobile app. It has been a whirlwind Fall and holiday season with starting back to work full time has been a little overwhelming for me.
So far though, my health has been good with working full time and I have spent this time adjusting to my new schedule and deciding how Detours in Life would proceed. I intend to keep this site going and sharing with you recipes, organization tips, and also include how my life is changing and the challenges that it presents. My posting schedule will change slightly as I get back in to a good flow of sharing my life with all of you.
Thank you all so much for visiting Detours in Life and following me and my site. I really appreciate you and the time you spend here. I hope that all of you have a wonderful New Year!
