It is Fall Break the next two days, meaning the kids are out of school. Thankfully, the kids are spending part of today with their grandparents so that is giving me a nice break to get my strength ready for three days of them being home. I would be lying if I didn’t say that I am a little nervous about three days of them home together. The last time I had that, it was a little crazy on that Friday without any help.
So, you might be wondering what my plan is to get us all through Fall Break? Well, I’m planning on taking them out of the house on Friday. Not sure yet what we will do. I’m tossing around the idea of either taking them to one of the local Pumpkin Patches or now that the National Park is open, I was thinking of driving up to Cades Cover in the Smokey’s and showing them the fall leaves, taking my camera to get some fun shots of them, and showing them the old buildings up there. I want to get them outside, active, and worn out!
The only problem with my plan at the moment is that the fall allergies have hit my little boy and he’s sounding rough. I’m hoping that he will get through it without going to his chest and requiring a trip to the pediatrician on Friday. That would really make for a stir crazy day for all of us.
The rest of the day and weekend, I’m going to really work on fine tuning the task list concept with the kids. This builds in some things they need to do as well as lots of fun things they want to do. I’m hoping that my daughter will finally get her room cleaned up after a month of her stalling and slowly working on it, but not fast enough to mean anything. I’ve got to get her wardrobe switched out for the cooler weather since it’s officially feeling like Fall around here the last day or so.
As for me with my peach and quiet time today, I’m going to bake some pumpkin bread and work on my first attempts at sewing pajama pants and a skirt for my daughter. Hopefully, I will finish!
