Nothing says “summer” like a great cookout with baked beans! These simple baked beans are easy and quick to get on the table and taste like you spent hours on them! This is how I fix my baked beans these days to save time and they taste amazing! The key to this recipe is to start with Bush’s Homestyle Baked Beans and tweek them up to make them out of this world.
I take a 28oz can of Bush’s Homestyle Baked Beans and add to it additional brown sugar, honey BBQ sauce, and minced onion. Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan. You can either at this point, simmer on the stove top on low for 30 minutes or you can bake in the oven at 350˚ for 45 minutes.
Letting the beans simmer or cook in the oven will thicken them. I let mine sit for a few minutes upon removing them from the oven. If you are needing to keep these warm, place in a crock pot and keep on low, stirring frequently!
