This is a salad that I grew up with, My Grandmother and my Mother both made it for family get togethers and it brings back a lot of fond memories. This Fresh Layered Salad is so simple to put together and you can customize it with different fresh veggies that you have on hand or appeal to you. This recipe is great as stated below, but get creative and try out new combinations! Let me know what your favorite combinations have been as I’m always looking for great ideas to change up recipes.
I started by making the dressing using a pack of ranch dressing, mayonnaise, and sour cream. Mix well and let chill in the refrigerator while you work on the rest of the salad.
Fresh Layered Salad
1 head of iceberg lettuce, washed/dried well and shredded (feel free to use other types of lettuce as well)
1 crown of Broccoli, cut in to smaller pieces
1 bag of frozen peas, cooked and cooled
1 package of ranch dressing mix
1 cup of mayonnaise
1 cup of sour cream
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
5 pieces of bacon, cooked to crispy and crumbled
Other ingredients you might want to try: cauliflower, green bell peppers, thinly sliced onions, and red bell peppers.
